In einer vom Krieg zerrissenen apokalyptischen Welt bleibt Glücklichsein normalerweise ein Traum, doch X ist glücklich. Er liebt Lili und er möchte sie heiraten, nur zwei Probleme müssen noch beiseite geräumt werden. Zum einen muss X seinen Job bei Mr. M, seinem Boss, in einer ominösen Regierungsbehörde beenden und zum anderen muss dieselbe Behörde ihm die Heiratserlaubnis erteilen. Sein Busenfreund Ney, den X wie einen Bruder liebt, was ganz auf Gegenseitigkeit beruht, könnte in dieser Angelegenheit behilflich sein … Ney jedoch befürchtet, dass sein Freund den Verstand verlieren könnte und bringt ihn dahin, unter der Last seiner eigenen Vision vom universellen Glücklichsein zusammenzubrechen. Dieser ästhetische Film basiert auf Fjodor Dostojewskis Roman »Das schwache Herz« und ist bereits der zweite Film der beiden Brüder Imad und Swel Noury. Said Bey wurde für seine Rolle des X als Bester Darsteller auf dem INTERNATIONALEN FILMFESTIVAL DUBAI geehrt.X is happy in a war torn apocalyptic world where happiness seems but a dream. He is in love with Lili and wants to marry but two things stand in their way. First, X must finish his work for Mr. M, his boss in the ominous government agency. The same government must also give him permission to marry. His bosom buddy Ney, who X loves like a brother and who loves him back, may be able to help. Ney fears for his friend’s sanity and tries to encourage this man breaking under the weight of his own vision of universal happiness. Based on Fjodor Dostoyevsky’s »A Weak Heart«, this aesthetic film is the second for brother filmmakers Imad and Swel Noury. Said Bey won Best Actor in the DUBAI INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL for his performance as X.
